I'm saying the 808 sounds aren't cliched - in the right hands, an 808 still sends chills down my spine. In the wrong hands, well, it's not the sounds that are the problem. Listen to Mad Mike or The Martian (UR) - you can't tell me their 808 use is cliched. I don't bother with ReBirth because I have an 808 and 303, but I'll note that Rebirth has had the effect of putting a very accurate recreation of those sounds in the hands of a lot of no-talent hacks. Che There's nothing that'll make me reach for the MUTE button faster than a Philips commercial...except Alannis Morrisette.
