Thank God for minidisc! I got my recorder earlier this week and have been listening to inaudible broadcasts, Thomas Brinkman and all my records in my car! I got my ISOPHLUX stuff at Lorraine for some totally ridiculous price ($5 per record maybe) at the prompting of Gonzi and Gilly. Now that I'm listening to Metal Beast a lot I'm realizing how good it is. Question: Is that EP a Shadd T. Scott affair or is it all Lex? Or, if it's both, which tracks were from each respective artist? Also, when exactly was this EP released? Follow up question: It's mid-February, is the Orange EP out yet? Where can I get it again? Thanks much, David ps. How old is Alex again (just so I can be jealous)? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

The only thing Lexaunculpt did on that label is Oh Here's Some Noises. And despite the leftover ugliness between our camps that has unfortunately been thrust on the list lately, I have nothing but good things to say about any of the Isophlux material. Both Lexaunculpt and James Bernard put out one release each, and Shad did all the rest (including Metal Beast). Also check out the Lustmord vs. Metal Beast on Side Effects, it's a live performance they did on KUCI with a some studio work added in later.

If it's not out yet, it should be any day now. He's playing Space Disco For Fish Tacos this wednesday to celebrate it's release. Believe me, when you see what they've put together, you'll agree it was well worth the wait to get it just right.

that influx 12" on isophlux has one of my favorite "idm-ish" tracks ever. period. hands down. not the ultra distorted one, but the one with the x0x drums, the chunky arp(?) warbles, and this melodic synth line that makes me want to sell all my synths, samplers, etc....

yeah, that's still a favorite with me too. i was listening to the station i work at tonight, and someone was playing this loopy noise/ambient show, and they threw in one of the tracks on there with beats, and it worked soooooo well. great album. the metal beast on isophlux is good too, especially that weird little melodic ambient track. good stuff. .. brian rachielles kcsb 91.9 fm santa barbara http://www.rain.org/~audio
