Microstoria is Markus Popp (Oval) and Jan St Werner (Lithops &
½ of Mouse on Mars).

Oval's stuff is much more than "scratches & whatnot"
but that is obviously what a quick listen portrays. The
cd with the most prevalent "scratches & whatnot" is
systemisch but albums like diskont97 and dok are
much more in the Microstoria vein IMHO. But i am
biased because i love everything that Markus Popp
touches.

Agreed!
Oval's stuff is Mouse on Mars related because with the LP
version of Oval's Diskont94 album there is a bonus remix 12"
with remixes by Mouse on Mars, Scanner, Christian Vogel
and Jim O'Rourke.
