dear musicians,
i am a developing artist in the united states here and as all of us residing
here very much know, the type of music we listen to is still one of the only
(untapped) musical arts in world. spreading from Israel to Scotland to
Jamaica to Japan, we have something very special. i for one am not a musician
because it pays well, i do it because i love it and most likely will until my
hand can no longer move without bio-mechanical implants due to heavy mouse
movement and button pushing. i think that i would rather be caught sucking my
own penis b4 id be seen on the idiot box aside the rest of the worlds pop
flavored musical fuck ups but on the other hand i do not like the idea of my
music going unsung to those i believe would enjoy it as much as i do so i
have done numerous things to assure it does not.
I've submitted many demos to many different companies i thought might be
a good idea to start with and have started a slew of sites on the Internet
featuring my music and compositions. I've spoken with video game developers
and party promoters and still i think that with music there is a better way
to get it to people.
in my opinion an online collective (not a label), where many artists can
act as a label, would be a great start. think of it this way....instead of
submitting your material to an organization like mp3.com or whatever or
being a hot dog labels prison bitch, you could create the music the way you
want, when you want, how you want and for what ever reason you wish. the only
conformity you commit to is the distribution of your own discs and vynal.
when ordered.....
you ask "how is someone going to order my music"?
i say "a po box where the order goes and the head of the label receives it
and then sends it to the artist to fill"
you say "how will we put on events?"
i say "live net broadcasts"
you say "why not just do it all on my own?"
i say "there is strength in numbers"
if anyone would like to help me in my plans to build this collective of beat
engineers please contact me at NERVECANDY@AOL.COM (yes AOL sucks i know)
and if you are interested in hearing any of the music i myself have created
