Hi , I'm just listening to Aphex Twin's Icct Hedral Orchestration by Philip Glass, and was wandering what other IDM/Techno artists have had their music remix/orchestrated into a classical/acoustic music ? I'm only aware of "Icct Hedral" and the Orb's "Oxbow Lake" ? Are there other such remixes/orchestration ? -- Maximilien Lincourt, B. info., Software developer mailto:max@toonboom.com http://www.toonboom.com

I think there is a whole CD called Acid Brass that is orchestral versions of "classic" techno songs. I've only read about it so I can't tell you what it sounds like. I think very few techno artists have had their works turned into orchestral pieces. Also, I can only think of a couple of people that have had their stuff remixed by techno artists (Ryuichi Sakamto and Gavin Bryars).

Haven't heard it all but what I have heard is not really orchestral. More along along the lines of 'brass band' versions. Nick

Check out shinjuku thief (anything after the bloody tourist). Best described as modern minimal classical music. -daniel On Tue, 8 Dec 1998, -nick^w- wrote:

William Fairey Band Acid Brass Blast First BFFP150CD rel 1997 Not cheesey at all. Quite accurately arranged brass band versions of acid house anthems by KLF "What Time Is Love", A Guy Called Gerald "Voodoo Ray", 808 State, Derrick May "Strings Of Life" and others....

in the nursery did a fine classical take on the sabres on the "vs" mini lp, beat most of the 'straight techno' stuff on there, imo. i think they did it again on tls' "swimming not skimming", but details are hazy and i can't remember if there were electro touches as well. -martin
