There have been rumors that Jean-Michel Jarre was actually the producer behind Popcorn (or Funky Popcorn?) by Hot Butter, though the song was actually written by Messrs. Perrey & Kingsley in the late '60s (the Hot Butter hit was circa '73)... I could believe it too. Jarre's first LP, Deserted Palace (withdrawn 'cuz he wanted to be more of a "serious" artist), has a lot of novelty stuff; witness tracks like "Poltergeist Party," "Rain Forest Rap Session," "Pogo Rock," "Exasperated Frog" and "Bee Factory." .John.

hey, umm, on kind of a related topic: wasn't francois kervorkian involved in some dodgy french disco things in the late 70's? * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com ##:# she beckoned to the sentry of his high religious mood she said, "i'll make a place between my legs, i'll show you solitude"

That would be 1978's "Push Push (In the Bush)" by Musique, after he had moved to New York and been a DJ for a few years. He mixed (produced?) the track, and worked on a bunch of others with Larry Levan at Prelude Records. It's somewhat of a classic of the heady post-"disco", pre-"house" days...
