The following records have been providing the perfect soundtrack to finally finishing going through the entries in the Plastikman, Neil Landstrumm, and Chain Reaction contests. A variety of electro from dancefloor ready to more introspective, some with vocals, but mostly instrumentals. All to put on your "to buy" list :) ==Adult--"Dispassionate Furniture" EP (5 tracks) (EZ-7) on Ersatz Audio; out the week of Nov 30 ==Keith Tucker--"The Automaton" EP ("Nemesis"/"Oscillator"/"(Techno)It's On My Mind" (PBX-4) on Puzzlebox; out the week of Nov 30 ==Ischemic Strokes Vol. 1 of a 3 part series (4 artists, one track each) (sch-007) on Schematic; out the week after that ==Takeshi Muto--4 track EP (don't have any song titles with version I have) (Sch-008) on Schematic; out the week after that The above three labels are distributed by Star 67 (http://www.star67.com) along with Interdimensional Transmissions and Viewlexx. Stay tuned in 1999 for singles from Gerhard Potuznik and I-F, plus albums from I-F ("The Man From P.A.C.K." is out on promo now but won't be commercially available until Jan or Feb 99), and plenty of new material from Ectomorph and others. Cognition Audioworks will be doing the world premiere of the I-F album closer to its release date. You can hear a thought-provoking interview with Star67/IT/Ectomorph's BMG on http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition Thanks. Great website - totally useless. I'm looking for distribution for my label at some point in the future, and unfortunately, this didn't help much, unless their phone number is *67, which I doubt. Anyone able to help with some resources for distro for an up and occasionally coming young record label?

Well, the site isn't empty, it's just that everything's hidden :) Just like the m-nus site, with all the Javascript:nothing() crap. Try: www.star67.com/it (Interdimensional Transmissions) www.star67.com/hotmix (Hotmix) www.star67.com/hotmix/visfor.htm (Viewlexx) The hotmix links are particularly worthwhile. --Harvey

What? The Ischemic Strokes was pretty good, and the Takeshi is excellent, however the Adult & Tucker leave much to be desired. I recommend the Schematics, but the Adult sounds the same as all the other EA/Electrecord-type stuff. Just my opinion. later4now! Track list for SCH008: Takeshi- Swollen Glances Vol.1 Fud Ulga, Ntak, Sku, Tmeta numb

That's funny. I don't have the Adult 12" (yet) but I certainly wouldn't say that Ersatz Audio/Monoplaza stuff sounds like the stuffon Electrecord. In fact very little of the EA/Monoplaza releases sound electro to me really. I think the Le Car releases on other labels (Interdimentional Transmissions and Craft) is more electro. Electrecord is definately electro and some slower hip-hop (sans rap) material. But I certainly wouldn't say "EA/Electrecord-type stuff"... -rbc3
