If you like the Life's Lush Electronica release, which
originally came out in 1995, then you'll want to get
his Fruigivore album for more of the same sound.
Another cool release is the Bionaut Re:Mixed
Company 12" which has remixes by Mouse on Mars,
Mike Ink and Air Liquide.
In case you didn't know, The Bionaut is Jorg Burger
who also records as The Modernist amogst many
other guises and is ½ of the Burger/Ink duo. His
releases like The Modernist: Opportunity Knox
album or The Modernist eps Dali Bop Horizon
and Orange Colored Sky are all in a similar style
although with a little more focus on percussion.
Moral - if you like the Life Lush Electronica album
then you'll definitely enjoy the other Bionaut,
The Modernist and Burger/Ink releases.

Yes the new koln kompakt mix cd features a
class group of artists mixed by M Mayer.
But, did you know...
There was another comp cd that came out earlier
this year with the same name koln kompakt on
the koln label "Kompakt." That comp featured
tracks from Kandis, Studio 1, Thomas Mayer,
The Modernist, Dr. Walker & Freddy Fresh,
Tandem, M:I:5, Thomas Brinkmann, Pentax,
Triple R & Emanuel, Jürgen Paape, OM1, and
Dr. Walker & M Flux. I believe all the tracks
on it were previously unreleased.
Both Koln Kompakt releases are well worth
having.
Regarding Michael Mayer, most recently
he is one the members of the german
techno supergroup Forever Sweet who
just released a brilliant album on Ladomat
2000. M. Mayer is a favorite producer of
mine. His two eps on the New Transatlantic
label from back in 97 - Heaven & Frost - are
both beautiful deep/minimal techno records.
Ok enough background rambling to Phil's
already informative post.
