I bought my girlfriend this one in coloring book form when she had ankle surgery and was laid up for about two weeks. Right now, I'm finally getting around to reading "Slaughterhouse Five" by Vonnegut. Next up in the queue is Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead" dilkus

Internet Routing Architectures - Bassam, Halabi cisco press I haven't read anything, technical or non-technical, in too long. Just put in an order to amazon.com, who by the way, I can't quite fathom ordering music from. I suppose if one listens to mariah carrey or whatever the children listen to today, it might make sense... I'm enjoying this thread, by the way, and mean to check out several of the books people are reading... but does anyone know of a good dedicated booklist for the discussion and reccomendation of books? another confirmed idm geek, e. yeh, same here, haven't been doing much reading recently as am involved in my own book writing bizness at the moment, but the last 2 books I read were Thomas Pynchon's 'Mason & Dixon' and Steve Erickson's 'Arc D'X' - wonderful, innovative insight into American history/historical revisionism. Aless ... but does anyone know of a good

i am currently finishing of henry roth's mercy of a rude stream quartet, and it's excellent. (roth is the guy who wrote call it sleep, which i'm sure many people read in modern american lit.) four solid books by an old, dead guy who probably never had the pleasure of listening to autechre. it's funny how most of the stuff being offered up on idm up is sci-fi, postmodern, culture/anti-culture, and general cult faves like ballard, burroughs, and pynchon. it's kind of how, on a goth list, everyone is reading anne rice or lautreamont, and how industrial headz are always reading stuff on re/search...

there's a somewhat hard to find collected works put out by Hendrickson publishers (translated by a Wm.Whiston) that reads exceptionally well. the Williamson translations in the penguin classics is cheap, easy to find and very well translated, imho. happy hunting. r.j.

Maybe I am just more likely to post if I am reading something I imagine is culturally linked to idm. or something. In fact, I'm reading Jacob's Room, by virginia woolf, and recent issues of wallpaper* and resonance.. er.. confusing how there are, I think, at least two resonance music magazines; this one features an article on thomas koner, among other things. ciao, yon yon@physics.utexas.edu
