The new Tony Montana album by Gez Varley, like the Tony Montana ep that preceded it, is a great release of dark pounding floor-friendly techno that is reminscent of stuff by Memory Foundation, Skinless Brothers, Clark, or some of the harder Claude Young tracks. The Gez Varley CD is pretty much a straight up minimal bangin techno album straight through from beginning to end. Only gave it one listen-through, and nothing really jumped out at me. If you ask me, the G-Man full is waaaaaaaaay better. --gm
