Not exactly idm but not exactly tech-house either: Anyone else heard the new Sven Vath "Contact" album yet? Surprisingly good, out on Ultra stateside, just got a promo and was about to chuck it when I noticed that Anthony Rother and Johannes Heil help out on production on most of the tracks. It shows, a lot of it is on par with Rother's best material - tech -electro breaks, recommended if you're into Jedi Knights/Octagon Man/Rother/Electron Industries/the lot. Don't know how much of that is Vath's hand at work, but it's still worth looking into. One of the better electro LP's I've heard lately, alongside Dopplereffekt's "Geshamkunstwerk" on Intl. Deejay Gigolos...Brock ______________ Brock Phillips Motormouthmedia 2525 Hyperion Ave. Suite One Los Angeles, CA 90027 fon 323.662.3865 fax 323.662.3844 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Haven't heard the album, but I got a promo 12" a month or two back that is really wicked. Hard electro, verging on 80s industrial/new beat. Me likes. "New Beat." Now that's a name I've not heard in a long, long time. Tell me, Luke, erm, Greg (or anyone else), what was the domestic label that released the Antler-Subway compilation called "This is New Beat" back in '90 or '91? Obi Laz Kenobe

Shit, good question. I know that Nettwerk released a couple of New Beat compilations with stuff like Gruesome Twosome, but I don't know if that was one of them. I think Instinct released an Antler-Subway compilation in that time frame... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
