Is anyone else seriously disappointed with and depressed by the Buzz Caner album? It makes me want to vomit thinking of the terrible crap Tom has made here contrasted with any of his other works? And the new Squarepusher album has no sequencing, live drums. I'd hate to see perhaps the most innovative Squarepusher element replaced by live drums. But we'll see, he is Squarepusher after all... --Geoff

However, to his credit, it is all old material, recorded years before the stuff on Rephlex and Warp. So I view it as a testament to how much he improved between when he did these tracks and when Feed Me Wierd Things was released. After all, it's not like he released this instead of a new Squarepusher album. And the Squarepusher mix on the remix 12" kicks. -David

I thought the new Squarepusher album was supposed to have *no samples*, not *no sequencing*. Also, since I'm a bit TJ fan but definatley not a 'spotter, I shall ask a dumb question: what's Buzz Caner? Is it a new release? Or is that the title of the dark grey album with the numbers all over and a bunch of old TJ tracks from Spymania, etc? If so, I guess I own it but don't know the title. Hell, the cover design is so ugly I can hardly bear to look at it much less read the damn thing. That grey album itself is not bad. Not as good as more recent TJ stuff, but certainly still light years ahead of most artists working right now. -Cf ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - c h r i s t ø p h e r f ª h e y . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ chris@raremedium.com 2 1 2 - 6 3 4 - 6 9 5 0 x 2 5 8 http://www.raremedium.com - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - . _ . - ' ^ ' - .

Yes, it's a new release. Not the (gray) Burningin Tree release you're thinking of. You can get it at Other Music. It's ok, I don't have a problem with it, but it is *not* the innovative drumnbass shenanigans that we have come to expect from TJ. It's a collection of noise, dirt 303 and 808, feedback, Tom (I presume) talking through some effects processor, lots of inside jokes, y'know, the typical Rephlex sound. I'm into it, but not because it blows me away... peace Nate Or is that the title
