i find no problem in liking something b/c it is different than what other people listen too...not to say that it is okay to like it for only that reason, but the uniqueness of what i listen to is part of why i like it... IDM-related artists are primarily what i listen to...however i also enjoy (although i don't stock my collection with) many other forms of music, and am not embarrased to enjoy the popular local "alternative" radio station...i am a clean-cut guy, work a 9 to 5 job, wear jeans and t-shirts, among other "normal" things...bascally what i am trying to say is that i am not one who masquerades himself as being "unique" or cool b/c of it, and i imagine that many people on this list don't do so either...despite this, i enjoy the fact that not many other people i know listen to the same music i do...for me it is something to call my own...like the blankets we carried when we were young, or the old t-shirt we yearn to get back from our ex-girlfriend, we all have things that we consider to be unconditionally "ours"...for me, the music i listen to is my own little playground, where i can separate myself from the outside world...i consider this music to be my own, and the specialness of the music wouldn't be the same if i heard is coming from every car stereo that drove by my house... so enjoying the uniqueness of music doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing...perhaps you should start giving people the benefit of the doubt before you go around name-calling and making assumptions about the personalities of people you don't know... -brad
