oh I didn't take it as any kind of personal thing you said directly to ME.. I'm just stating that that's not the reason or even a "bonus" as you say it to why I like IDM.

how old are you? If you don't mind me asking... I don't believe they are the same.. I believe yes some adults are quite childish, but we aren't the same as children. although in the wise words of green velvet's preacherman: "in most games of house there is no marriage ceromony, we go right into bein' mommy and daddy.. and this same mentality has followed us into our adulthood.. we live with for whom we have no intention of marryin', we sleep with for whom we have no intention, of ever marryin'.. we have kids with those for whom we never had any intention of marryin' ... YOU'RE PLAYIN' HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!" :DDDD

I sometimes call them songs.. but technically yes, they are not songs. usually I call everything tracks "b/c" ;) I think it's also appropriate, and it avoids that confrontation of what a piece of music must have to be a song, etc.
quoted 1 line not a reason, a bonus.>not a reason, a bonus.
it's not a bonus either. I mean, it would be pretty cool if there were a lot more ppl here who liked this kindof stuff. I mean, you also always have to find people with similar interests.. to bond with, make friends with, etc.. as for girlfriends, It's like totally futile to try and find a girl who likes this kind of music, although.. when I look for a girl, I don't look for an IDM logo on her chest..
quoted 2 lines its good that U respect other peoples interests in music. i myself think>its good that U respect other peoples interests in music. i myself think >that Prodigy did some decent material in their early days. its good that
yeah hehe, in the early days :)

yeah I see what you mean.. but I still say that not one ounce of my being likes being alone in here in liking IDM.. well I know some people here who are into it, but the number is less than 10 :) i'm talking IDM.. of course there's a shitload of ppl here who like trance, house, jungle, blabla.. in the rave scene basically everyone does =)

yes, but how many are in my general area of where I live? :) that's what I meant.. and I don't wanna start the "girls in idm" thread again, but I know there's at least 5 girls on this list.. one of them posts quite often (Irene McC) __ __\ \ / /_\ \ 1cQ<->uIN \_____/ 1.3777993 "..in whatever you do, if you can't break new ground, what's the point?" - James Cameron

Ha :-) Thank you for noticing. I have, in fact, considered changing my e-mail 'name' to something neutral and un-gender-specific, but I have no reason to try to hide my femaleness. If anybody considers my comments any less worthy for coming from a woman, then that's their bias and narrow-minded approach. I *

err xcuse me, there might not be many of us, but we are out there! tho at all the Rephreshs and Blechs, techno & drum'n'bass nights, its always about 95% blokes to 5% of us lasses but dats cool! and in the record shops down Berwick Street, its lads rule but it does come in handy sometimes, for guesties & the Record & Tape Exchange lads are sooo sweet always give me whoppin discounts & save some stuff I'm lookin for. and I have managed to convert quite a few of my girlfriends, who normally only like the feathered up and feather brained, fluffy bikini house clubs, by takin them down Rephresh, 333, Metalheadz ... Flippin eck, I mean even Madonna & Kylie were down Rephresh checkin it out! but Madonna wasn't dancin so she's not THAT cool! I'm sure there's quite a few of us on here, aren't there? Aless

my wife is kewl with some IDM. APHEX is too crazy for her, but Solar Quest isn't. She likes Melodic shit, and totally dug the latest PLOD CD. SHE LOVES TORTOISE too (but we can debate all day long if they're IDM or not) I know Brock Suter's g/f is totally into IDM. She even spins too, but she spins jungle. Then again, they hang with Nico all the time so of course she's into. I don't think that statement about girls not being into IDM is valid. maybe there is just a larger male presences cuz we sit in front of our computers a lot more..... g

woah woah... I never said there isn't any girls out there that aren't into IDM.. I said finding one for myself in my general area that is the right girl for ME is quite hard.. I meant that for any ONE person on this list, it is quite hard to find girls who are into *IDM* in their general area. I never said that no girls were into IDM. I'm sorry if this brought some confusion, but it was just some sly-humoured remark that wasn't meant to be taken so seriously. __ __\ \ / /_\ \ 1cQ<->uIN \_____/ 1.3777993 "..in whatever you do, if you can't break new ground, what's the point?" - James Cameron

Speaking as someone who spends his mornings "discussing" with his wife which Autechre CDs each of us is bringing to work, I have to agree. ah, see...that is why you must convert them! my girlfriend had never heard of any of the music i currently listen to, so i indoctrinated her into it...now, while she isn't the rabid listener that i am, she certainly enjoys the music, as i have made tapes of SAWI among others for her to listen to... -brad
