"...I have heard tests that when you dub from a Mididisk to Minidisk, you start hearing audible differences after the 5-10th generation. -Jeremy" _________ Assuming this is the case, is there a way to take an "image" snapshot of the data on a MiniDisc and place that image onto a fresh disc, bypassing the lossy codec? Also: It probably goes without saying that there are quality records shops in London. Any kind soul out there with pointers to a choice few dealing w/electronica? There is no consumer-grade equipment that allows this. I assume that there exists professional equipment which does do it, though. ObIDM: Picked up the Reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge comp last night. A bunch of good stuff on it of the drill'n'bass variety, occasional lame moments. I need to listen to it a couple more times to review it effectively, but it's worth tracking down. See http://www.tiac.net/users/sheket/ for details. It's easier to remember the URL than the name of the label. That's gotta be a first. :-) NP: Meat Beat Manifesto - _Subliminal_Sandwich_ -- Adam J Weitzman NewsEdge Corporation Welcome to my signature. http://www.newsedge.com Please wipe your feet. http://www.newspage.com

I dunno - the whole basis of MD technology is ATRAC compression, so I wonder if it would actually be a MD deck if it didn't have ATRAC.... Could be wrong though... cya brian -------------------------------------------------------- "The most dementing of all modern sins: the inability to distinguish excellence from success." - David Hare
