i've been on the list for about a week now, and it seems that every other post alludes to aphex or ae. i haven't heard a single mention of squarepusher. is squarepusher not considered idm? you can't tell me that iambic five poetry is not idm. also, i've only heard about 1 mention of mu-ziq. is this because royal astronomy sucked?

The reason squarepusher isnt mentioned much is becuase he has elements of jazz all over his body of work. Some say he is the "new jazz" etc, etc. But anyway IDMers dont like this becuase jazz isnt very BLEEP BLOOP techno goobly garg like AE and Aphex. U-ziq WAS cool but yea its becuase Royal Astronomy sucked. Once IDMers have decided youve sold out they exile you with the ferocity of an underground punk rocker. Everyone on this lists ignores me and I dont like that. Ive been listening to Autechre and all the cool people for a long time but the IDM list still wont even pay attention to me and I hate them. Sorry, Royal Astronomy sucked did it? I thought it was the funniest album I'd heard since Rest Proof Clockwork. These albums requires a sense of humour, and I thought Royal Astronomy took the piss in the most intelligent and funniest way it was possible to do so. No musical genre is safe from Mike Paradinas. Okay, bits of Royal Astronomy are a waste of time, but I find that this is the case with almost every IDM album I buy. There's nearly always a track or two that I find totally rank. Hmmmm, perhaps we Royal Astronomy fans are in a minority here? James.
