Tonight I had reason to ask this same question. I looked in my own IDM archives and only found 2 references to Xyphax; a track on "Dream Injection 2" and also a track on "Dream Injection 3" as well. I'm replying 9 months later because last weekend I bought a neat German compilation of (mostly) Drum n' Bass stuff called "vorsprung durch drum & bass" on the Sub Terranean (division of Euro Media) label, released late last year. I bought it because it had a lot of the usual suspects: Rob Halford & Goldie, DJ Rap, Ed Rush & Nico, Dom & Optical, Jacob's Optical Stairway, Omni Trio, Squarepusher, Photek, DJ Krust, Jonny L and others. But what blew me away the most on these 2 CDs (nice fold-out cover and graphics, too) were the non-big names: one being Xyphax ("Treplec" - "licensed from Westcom GMBH"), as well as a Chaos & Julia Set track ("Learn To Fight" - goddamn, can Mark Pritchard do no wrong? Where the phuque do I find Chaos & Julia Set output) and somebody else called Intense ("First Contact" - "licensed from Vibe'z"). So I repeat PUCKERED1's previous plea: Anyone know more about this Lui Krueger person and their Xyphax project? Or Intense? (Sorry if this is more Breaks list than IDM list related) ObIDM: Also kicking my ass is the first CD of "State Of The Nu-Art 2". But damnit, why'd they have to ruin it with the lame Rap tracks? Arggh. Maybe CD 2 will be different ... - Greg

TAH! Sorry I don't have more XYPHAX info for you...but For those drumandbass-heads jonesin because radio one has temporarily suspended streaming Fabio and Grooverider off the "listening booth" http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/listeningbooth/listeningbooth.html one might be advised to chop the URL down to; http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/listeningbooth/ for the complete .ram file index on which "fandg.ram" is a quite listenable verision of Saturday 2nd May 1998 02:00-04:00 With Grooverider and a spotlight on E-Z Rollers. (tks to an IDM'er for http://www2.prestel.co.uk/lwtcdi/era/fabgroov.htm atrainspotter friendly tracklisting of each broadcast!) Speaking of fandg.ram's, back on March 21, Grooverider hosted a "fresh from the Winter Music conference" Mark and Clayton from Trouble on Vinyl/Renegade Hardware/Renegade Recordings, who reported that they had inked a deal to bring the Quantum Mechanics lp to the US on domestic. I think they said August-ish? Any Boston IDM-ers heading down to see JMajik on May 13th? If you think of it, bring a current flyer and arrive before 11PM and you get in free and shit. Oh, and don't hesitate to say hello, I'll be the sweaty geezer w/the IDM t-shirt on...sounds inviting huh. ;-) Teep np: tough at the top - timecode remix (moving shadow)

Xyphax modern music has the Full Length of Xyphax ('Time Of The Year') on CD. i believe we have one copy left in stock, but it shouldn't be that hard to bring in multiple copies. (don't hold me to that just yet until i can positively verify...) as usual, send any inquiries to modernmusic2@earthlink.net thanks, christian -- "Minimalism is out.
