Just wanted to clarify something... this CD (or CDs) grew out of a project where the front man of the Flaming Lips would gather a lot of people together in a parking lot, and have them all play the tapes and stuff that he had brought at the same time.... I think that that is who this one is meant to be played. in fact, I'm pretty sure of it. SO if you get this, get together with some of your car endowed friends, park in a circle, hit play at the same time, and then sit in the center. I guarantee you that it will be a different thing than all of it mixed together on one CD... but maybe it is because I know people who have been to these sessions. whatever. sorry to drag the list even more off topic evan

Well, it could be worse. If you like the Flaming Lips you might be bullied into buying another 3, seeing as their new LP comes on 4 CDs which are intended to all be played at the same time (or not, if you're feeling rebellious). What the point of it? Don't ask me. It could be that they were just too lazy to mix it, or that they want to sell 1 CDs for the price of four, or it could be just a load of gimmicky nonsense. Great art concept guys, really it is, but next time please just spare us the bullshit and just give us the music. Or don't, who really cares? And yes, I know you can listen to each disc separately, and that might well be considered 'the point' of the whole release (gasp at the innovation) but as Irene points out, who but the luxuriously rich would have 4 CD players to do this on. Maybe the real point of it all that you should have three friends who are willing to lend you their stereos in order to perform this most pointless of audio experiments in the first place. It's a test of your love for the band incorporating your social skills in persuasion and diplomacy. And after all that it's probably crap anyway. Kewl!
