I recently picked up Relais - 1336 on Decode and I just thought I would recommend it, especially to the lovers of the old-school idm sound of which evidently there are quite a few around. It's really rather nice. There is one track from it in realaudio format at http://www.decode.de. this is a pretty varied cd, but has several tracks that harp back the 'good old days'.... but it has some more varied material other than just that kind of sound...

Well, to use anothe lamer comarison :) ... I've seen it compared to Black Dog, I guess that's fair, but it's more minimal. In parts it reminds me of Theorem's Ion. Rough Trade obviously think it belongs in that category, they have filed it along with Chain Reaction. But it doesn't totally belong there either. Interesting rhythms, a couple of the tracks have breakbeats, other's have a more techno feel. Mostly the tracks have simple but very pleasant melodies. It's got nice packaging too, except all the track names are in morse code which looks nice but is kind of hard to read. It comes with a booklet of photos which is pretty cool, lot's of buildings and highways at night, that sort of thing. BTW, I think you will like it, Kelley, I would definitely recommend it to you.
