Urban Sounds will have a brand new tech house mix on its site by chicago dj sativa when it goes live early next week at http://www.urbansounds.com among several others. we're just wrapping up production on this huge, huge issue. marie p.s. check out the ultramarine 12" _on the brink_ on new electronica. it smokes many techhousers i've heard lately.

I never considered myself a big fan of house music, but some things lately have been catching my ear - specifically tech-house along the lines of Terry Lee Brown's "Chocolate Chords" LP. The darker, more "tech" stuff is what hits me; it's not particularly inventive or amazing but it still goes way beyond standard house IMHO. Anything else along these lines worth checking out (labels, artists, etc)? I've read a couple good reviews of Terry Francis' "Architecture" comp that place it in the realm of tech-house but haven't heard it myself. Somebody school me on this one - thanx.

Tech-house is one of my favorite styles of music. there's a lot of labels and artists/labels in this style. some of the best tech-house labels are Ferox, Phono, Primitive Urges, Soma, Music Man, Generations, Palette, and Parallel to name just a few. When i get home this evening i'll post my top 10 tech-house releases. btw: i second brock's recommendation of the Chocolate Chords album. it's fantastic. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
