Hi, I'm new, and I've got two things to ask and one to comment on. First, I was wondering what my chances are for finding mp3s (or any other format) of BoC stuff. I found the realaudio of Twoism (thanks EHX and Brap), but I'd like to be able to listen to it when I'm not on the net. I'd also like to check out the rest of Hi Scores (having, of course, heard only the tracks from the Skampler). (I'm sorry if this makes anyone upset about copyrights. I promise to buy two copies of the CD as soon as it comes out.) Second, since I haven't heard them both, do the songs "sixtyniner" and "June 9th" have anything to do with one another? This only occurred to me because June 9th is written 6/9 in countries where football players use their hands. Third: first Carl Wilson and then Falco. It's been a sad (or happy, I suppose, depending on who you are) weekend for pop music. Thanks, Danny Wyatt --------------------------- Danny Wyatt danny@arbitrary.com http://www.arbitrary.com/

And to prove that good/bad things always come in threes... the guitarist from the 80s hair metal band Slaughter was also killed in a car accident this past weekend. Greg

I think you getting him mixed up with Taco and his song "Puttin' On The Ritz".. ^^ Falco did the song "Rock Me Amadeus" and I believe "Der Kommisar". Oh the eighties... Ross

Yup, as well as Biosphere, Panasonic, Farmers Manual, Scala, etc., and the usual assortment of random bits and weird ethnic musics. I don't know why, but the Touch samplers always remind me of the classic "From Brussels With Love" compilation that Crepuscule put out back in the mid 80s. Maybe I'll pull it out for my show tonight and play a couple of tracks from it along with stuff from the Touch disc and the new "Invisible Soundtracks" comp that I just got from Leaf. Should make a nice set. Greg

"Puttin On The Ritz" was Taco, not Falco. Falco did "Der Kommissar" and "Rock Me Amadeus". You people need to get a little more 80's culture.

Here it is (as snagged from the Touch website). The track numbers not listed are just little untitled bits of sound & noise. Touch Sampler 3 T_ZERO_3 Due for release: 23rd February 1998 Bar Code No.: 5/027803140325 Length: 66' 42" 27 tracks Track Listing: 2. Hole in the Universe 3. Experiments with conventional microphones failed to record any documentary evidence, and, despite the presence of higher harmonics not part of the original installation, this posthumous simulation is intended to provide some indication of the atmosphere created at that event. Installation sponsored by Maplin and B&W Loudspeakers. 25. Recorded in the Santa Rosa National Park, dry tropical rainforest, Costa Rica.
