Anyone able to clue me in on suggestions/discographies for these guy(s?). I've heard the track they did ages ago on Macro Dub Infection Vol. One comp...but nothing since then. All the sudden I hear two tracks they did for upcoming comps. on Six Degrees out of SF that just rock my world. The only other thing I've heard that comes close is Extremadura, also off that Macro Dub compilation. Any thoughts? I too have been following these folks for a while. I have quite a few appearances by them, but I can't remember them all... They do have tracks on one (or both) of the "Avantgardism" comps, and they show up most recently on the "Invisible Soundtracks [MACRO 1]" comp from Leaf. I don't have a discography, but his/their track off of Blue Planet's "State of the Nu-Art 2" comp is my favorite of the entire release. I would probably sell it if it weren't for the Bedouin track. Bedouin Ascent is one guy, Kingsuk Biswas. He has a track on that Talvin Singh related comp 'Anokha: Soundz of the Asian Underground' under his real name... To the best of my knowledge he only has one album release, and a follow up ep. Both were on Rising High, and the I recall that the full length was called 'Music for Particles'. To be honest, I'd recommend fans of his recent stuff steer clear of this older material. While still rhythmically all over the show, it's very much based on analogue synth and drum machine sounds. I don't reckon these techno sounds work with the left-field rhythms, particularly not with a bunch of very unexceptional wafty synth pads in the background. Since then I've only heard the 'Macro Dub Infection' track you mention (my fave on that album), the one on 'Anokha', and his contribution to the Dot records comp 'Endlessnessism'. I believe it's the work of one guy, Kingsuk Biswas. I've got these releases (plus a ton of remixes) by him on Rising High: RSN 42 Bedouin Ascent - Ruthless Compassion RSN 84 Bedouin Ascent - Pavillion Of The New Spirit RSN 102 Bedouin Ascent - Further Self Evident Truths RSN LP27 Bedouin Ascent - Science Art and Ritual RSN LP37 Bedouin Ascent - Music For Particles Most all of it is an extremely pleasing combination of crunchy beats and haunting melodies, especially the two lps. I also think I've seen a few things under he's done under his name, but can't remember shit due to one serious hangover. word to the mothership, brock --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

"Pavillion Of The New Spirit" is an excellent, quite original and odd release, and, I think, far superior to the "Music For Particles" record- check out the track "Tomb of Eagles". There's also a collaborative remix of Tortoise that's part of the Thrill Jockey 12" series; Bedouin Ascent did a Tortoise remix, and then Jim O'Rourke remixed the remix for a re-remix. yours in work avoidance, Drew --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

He actually has two earlier full lengths and an ep or two on Rising High. I think the other full length was called "Science, Art and Ritual" and was even earlier than "...Particles". His brother, Ansuman (sp?), also does music and crops up on the L&A comps, I believe. jeff Michael Upton wrote:
