I cant recommend any events in Seattle because I just relocated to Chicago. However, I can recommend some record stores. (+) go to: Exotique Imports, the store is located south of The Needle, I think maybe on Third. Ive only purchased vinyl here. good selection and they sort most of the records by label which is handy. listening to records here is painful because of their outdated turntables. (+) go to: DJ Nomad, the store is located in the University District. Ive only purchased vinyl here. pretty good selection, higher prices than most places. (-) dont go to: Orpheum, the store is located on the North end of Broadway. I received *Very Bad* service here. I can only say negative things about this place. Jeffrey

unforuntately, exotique has closed its doors!!! it makes me very sad, but that's the way it goes in business I guess.. I've never been to nomad, so I should certainlly check that out.. There's also universe records (name changed to...?) on university way somewheres... Certainly must check out wall of sound, great place overall! I recommend them highly.. 2nd & bell in belltown (kitty-korner from the <bsp>Speakeasy Cafe, which is also highly recommended (but then I work there)</bsp>) I'm sorry to hear about your orpheum experience.. service has improved slightly, though not by much.. others are anomalous records (?) & ohm (on olive next to the green cat cafe) --brett On Mon, 2 February 1998, at 19:33:22, jeffrey wrote:

ok exotique is unfortunetly no more ... very uncool .. but there is a store in capital fill on pike (just north of broadway ) called delicious music .. and it fits the niche that exotiques closing has left us with ...

service smervice .. yeah there uppity sub pop groupies .. but oh man their cd selection is always dope ... i have never left this store without a handful of cd's... 2 other places to look are wall of sound in belltown(snd and bell?) .. limited but ecclectic catalogue and OHM! ... on olive in captiol hill ... ohm has an even more limited stock .. and its all imports .. but it has been *the* place to get weird ass music since i move here 2.5 years ago ... i love walking into this place (or even by it for that matter) just to see what hes got playing in the store hope this helps m.
