I'm voting for the Rather Interesting release "BASS". Great Atom Heart weirdo ambient record. As a matter of fact there will be a few AH records in my best of 97 votes. Nate On Wed, 17 Dec 1997, Eric Frans wrote:

Thanks for all the suggestions people! The problem is I seemed to purchase mostly beat-oriented albums this year so my pickins' are slim. All I know is that the Plaid lp is going to rank up there this year for "IDM Album of the Year". E r i c F r a n s ----------------------

The biosphere " substrata " is well.... o.k. While i'm glad to see this getting proper distribution, i wish it was done with patashnik or microgravity. Some good chill out albums this year are polusha " isolation "( single ), I just bought Harold Budd " The White Arcades " this album just got re-issued but originally came out in 1988. bb. onnow: Hornography ------------------------------------- Bryan Bickel bickelbr@student.lansing.cc.mi.us www.msu.edu/user/nealjenn On Thu, 18 Dec 1997, M. Slightly off-topic, but I've been curious... If there are categories for best chillout and best jungle, why not just best dance oriented release, and best instrumental hiphop/hiphop production. you know, slighly broaden the poll to encompass IDM-relevant stuff that the current poll will probably end up excluding. Next year maybe? Or, just send votes in those 2 categories to me, and i'll compile them, because I'm curious. One nominee per category please, and make the header "poll". I'll do some sorta repost thing in a week or so. Sam
