Bummer that is isn't out in the UK, but I guess it's time we got a taste of our own medicine from you folks over in America and the rest of the world. Glad to hear Mr Gage hasn't gone off on a drum and bass tip or anything, because the 1st Vapourspace LP has a sound all of it's own, and it would be a shame if we never heard anything like it again. Anyway, cheers for the review and info - thank God someone knows something and is willing to share it... And now to a couple a quick quiz questions... 1)Is Balil just Mr Ken Downie, or am I losing it? Or was he Xeper? This brings up a related question... After listening to Plaid's _Not For Threes_ I hear a lot of similarities between my favorite Black Dog album _Temple Of Transparent Balls_. This leads me to believe that Ken's input may have been minimal on that particular release. Does anyone know if that's the case or not? Just something I've been thinking about lately... This is correct... but as far as i can tell they were still all involved no matter what pseudonym was being used... i think the recent results from plaid and the black dog prove it was the alliance that made them. I don't know... everything i've ever read indicates that the music was done either individually or as teamed by aliases and that this is just how they worked... in at least two interviews, downie straight out says this is how it was (believe one interview is the future music one) i think that the 'recent results' is simply the artists doing their thing now as oppossed to what they did then... something like evolution... um, or something... personally, i *very much like* the what i've heard (and some of you who should have heard by now, yet haven't -- sorry!) from k.d. in regards to the live demo & the bullit remixes... have yet to receive the it remix, but can't wait... haven't heard a second of the new plaid though... arg. no way. i know that saying this will probably get me kicked off the list, but i think <---this is my opinion | that "not for threes" is better than "bytes". i've given "bytes" so many chances, and it still doesn't really do that much for me. i've liked "threes" since the first listen. songs like "myopia," "milh," "prague radio," and "rakimou" are just so full of emotion. the female vocals don't bother me at all - "rakimou" and "myopia" are two of my favorite tracks. speaking of female vocals, do the people who don't like them feel the same way about seefeel's stuff? just wondered. anyway, i know i'll be listening to plaid way more than i will bdp. alan! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
