Hi. Please excuse the off-topic nature of this post. Recently my cheap, old speakers stopped working. I am interested in getting a much better set. What speakers would any list members recommend in the sub-$1000 US category? Please include sources for any speakers that you recommend. BTW I have a "generic" 100 watts-per-channel stereo receiver,and I listen to mainly electronic music off all sorts. well, these are quite good, but i guess it depends on what you want. they can kick out the jams (as the kids say), but i prefer clarity over strength. so i listen to paradigms and sennheisers (on yamaha systems, of course). paradigms are easily the clearest "big" speaker i've ever heard of, and they work real nice with the boston acoustics satellites and sub. and my bedroom has smaller sennheisers (also sennheiser monitors and headphones for music writing junk). * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### fuck the past, kiss the future!
