i picked up a few days ago and i really enjoy it. a few tracks come close to losing it due to his vocals, but for the most part it's really good. i even like that Atom Bomb track. as for the sound.. erm, i hate doing this. it's got a big trance element to it but it's a bit laid-back. the sounds are very deep and fluid and i think the drum programming fits perfectly. it's a great album and i reccomend picking it up. designer's republic did the design so it looks really similar (typography and whatnot) to autechre's chiastic slide. tDR seems to be running out of ideas quickly. oh well. ------------------------------------------------- wells oliver : s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu "perhaps all pleasure is relief" : w.s.b. -------------------------------------------------

If you want a really good dose of trance, pick up the Atom Bomb single, either disc 1 or 2. Both of them have an excellent trance remix that always manages to "fix" my need for such music. np: MBM- Original Fire/Babylon -- jr

Don't buy it...as the title suggests it IS Risotto. Had a listen to it at my local record store. Nothing special about this CD. They might as well have called it "Crap" Spend your money on better albums.

The music itself is more breakbeat than IDM, which might mean that it should be discussed in other circles rather than this one. It's more of a "rock out in my car while taking a road trip cause everything else is putting me to sleep and I wore out my chemical bore tape" kind of album. If your looking for something to rock your mind, stay clear away from this. But if your looking for something that's fun, features pretty cool DR graphics, is vocal tinged (reminiscent of Underworld), and simply rocks, this ones for you. The first half is ok, but the second half does the duty. I mean, personally, I can't live by weird-demanding music alone. just another perspective, t.S.o.G. "some have to dance.... some have to kill" can you believe that My life with the TKK are still releasing records?! Jeeze! Some people just don't quit!

What?! Don't listen to him. Listen to the cd. He probably thinks Underworld is crap too. If you don't like Underworld, then you'll probably agree with him, but if you do like Underworld, then chances are that you will also REALLY like Risotto. mshephrd@sirius.com | "...the way to truth and right lies in straightforward "...thita NK;" Inc. | honesty, not in indiscriminate flattery."-W.E.B.DuBois

Hello!!! actually I do like Underworld. But the new Fluke CD is CRAP (according to my humble opinion). It features nothing new, Fluke played it safe...probably wanted to make some extra cash. On a other note: Dimitri from Paris (what's in a name) released a very good CD: Sacre Bleu It's a bit in the trend of N.O.W. last album. So if you can't decide which to buy go for the Dimitri CD and leave Fluke to the techno-wannabes.

I also like Underworld, but would have to agree with Bart's review of Fluke's Risotto. There was nothing original here, it seems like an attempt to make some money from the success of Underworld, Chemical Brothers, etc. I also thought the lyrics didn't add anything to the music the way Underworld's lyrics (sometimes) do. If you're going to use lyrics, make sure you do it right. This was my impression, anyways.
