Want a little latin injection in your IDM? Senor Coconut is an interesting
twist on the latin music theme. You have all the cliche sounds and rhythms
that you hear in latin dance music mixed with interesting electronic sounds
and treatments. Listening to this release makes me think of cha cha line
dancing and Ricki Ricardo (50's latin music). There's almost a kind of
humor that is not too overt in this.
Senor Coconut does not sound cheezy like you might think though, there's
always enough unique, original content to keep your interest. I like it
because it's different.
BTW, I've heard that the Lisa Carbon releases sound like this too (?).
