greetings all.. note: a post about music. i've been enjoying stuff on leaf records for some time now. the full length album by sons of silence is just wicked. some great basslines and wonderful use of samples. great beats mixed with some atmospheric settingsin somewhat of an ethnic tone. they've got some involvement with o yuki conjugate and woob.. & the recent release of "block" by a small good thing is great!! similar to sons of silence (i believe they have common members) but with a much more experimental edge to as far as construction and flow. definitely worth a listen!! so basically, i'm surprised that this label and especially these bands have not been getting much attention. if you haven't heard this stuff, ask about it at your local store.. phat beats and wicked rythmns all layered in with some crazy samplage... does anyone out there have these? i'd love to get some more specific information about the band members, their connection with o yuki conjugate and what else they have had their hands into... e r i k

The Sons of Silence are three people, I really don't know much else. Prior to Silence FM, they put out two EP's, _Suited & Booted_ and _Spring Forward:Fall Back_, also on Leaf. The CD pressing of the second EP includes the first as a bonus. They also contributed to the Invisible Soundtracks project, and the new EP, _Back on Your Heads_ was released today.
