I know that they are former members of Pop Will Eat Itself. They have a couple of singles and an album out on Skint. yup. rich from the poppies and another guy. released on skint awhile ago (picked mine up in late may) and being released here by awerks. pretty good, but some of the stuff gets kinda long for no good reason other than to be long. also, it sounds like they do a complete ripoff of squarepusher's problem child in ragtopskodacarchase, but then pewi were always known for their sampling... alan!

Not terrible, in fact not bad, but nothing spectacular. Basically big beat dancey stuff, but goofy. While the Chemicals have a little bit of funk/soul (at least on their first album), BRA basically loses all of that and replaces it with sheer goofiness. However, their sense is a lot better than other goofy big beaters like Fatboy Slim. Funny samples, some weird sounds, but it's still *just* a goofy dance album with overly long tracks. Still recommended. Sam

definitely but get the Astralwerks release(it has two extra tracks that are b-sides from non domestic cd singles) if you were/are a fan of the frivolous fun side of PWEI then you'll love this, I know I do.One of the best albums of the year. spaul

pants on. Indeed. I heard this disc while in Sister Ray earlier this, and picked it up on the spot. Other than the excellent material on musik aus strom (Skam of 1996), Jega EP, and Andrea' Parkers MBM'ish remix of Orb's "Asylum", BRA is the only disc that has found consistent playing time in my CD player this year.
