IF2 is one of my favorite IDM albums of all time.

Quite a cool album! Starts out with a track that has definite Carl Craig overtones/influences, continues with some tracks that have a Ectomorph electro sort of feel/sound. I like it.

Erm, kind of disappointed with this one. Stoll's got his one unique sound, and sometimes it works for me (more often on his 12" singles, since they're mixable), but usually leaves me kind of flat. I dunno, it's pretty boring 4/4 techno by the numbers most of the time. Like I said, some of the 12"s *bang*, but listen before you buy.

Only listened to part of this, but what I heard was really nice. I don't think this release exists (although it would be pretty cool if I was wrong). To my knowledge there's DSN vs. HIA and HIA vs. Biosphere, both of which are very good. DSN vs. HIA mixes the best of both bands and turns out to be a thoroughly enjoyable trancey, very electronic sounding ambient album - go figure. HIA vs. Biosphere is creepy and cold. Lot's of things going on, but many I can only hear with headphones. One of my favorite ambient releases of the year so far.

I don't have IF2, so I can't compare any of Moulfang's other releases to it... I haven't picked up a bad Moulfang release (well... I didn't like the Move D/Namlook collaborations much). The Move D stuff I have has a nice early Warp sound with repetitive beats and strange bleeps. Reminds me of RAC or early ambient Aphex. DSN "Big Rooms" is a classic. Lush melodies and nice beats. A must buy IMO - essential. Moulfang and Namlook's Koolfang releases are great too. Soulful, borderline house music, with lots of jazzy guitar and deep bass. They get panned a lot, but I think they are some of the best FAX releases. "Traffic", DSN Live, is a nice ambient session that's a little more experimental than the other DSN releases I have. The noodling isn't annoying though and the tunes are still very melodic. I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch. MC
