Just today I bought a (nice and cheap) Sub Rosa (Belgian label) compilation CD 'Underwood' with a track by Seefeel which I've never heard (or heard of) : 'as track'. all it says on the cd is that it's 'from ancient lights and the blackcore SR78' ... equally puzzling are tracks by Mouse on Mars : 'subnubus' (from folds and rhizomes for gilles deleuze SR99) and Scanner 'flaneur electronique' (from sulphur SR95) any Belgians on the list who can shed some light? Helen OnNow: Underwood - Mich Harris 'tap' from forthcoming album l'inachive SR93 For completists: I also finally found Repeats, Flare and Disjecta's latest.

A question, is this the same Scanner that does a remix on a recent Scorn album called Ellipsis? Ross Volition Inc

It appeared on a free 12" which came with initial copies of the 'Spore' LP GB.

_Ancient Lights_ is a compilation with Scorn, Seefeel, a field recording of Yanomami shamans made by David Toop, and a mix by dj Cheb i Sabbah. The Seefeel tracks have the same stark feel as _Succour_.

Great MoM track from a tribute disc to Gilles Deleuze. What's "puzzling" about it?

Does anyone know if this album will be released as Mick Harris, or is this the new Scorn disc (rumored to be out in May)? I thought this track was excellent. Hope this helps. --jeff -- auricle@io.com

How is this? It's the last Seefeel I commonly see that I haven't gotten yet... Quique was the first Seefeel I picked up, after hearing a track of theirs on AI II. Much impressed, I got Succour, which I found to be tremendously dark, and at least equally good. Thirdly I got Polyfusia, and haven' really had time to fully listen to it, but I feel it falls somewhere in between Quique and Succour in mood... lastly, today I picked up a single which I can't remember what it's called, but it's in a thin red cardboard sleeve, and has two tracks. Can anyone point me towards a Seefeel discography, or other similar releases one who likes swirly, warm electronic music might like...? elizabeth olson greyrose@linex.com http://www.extortion.com "it's a crazy, crazy mixed up town, it's the rattlesnake i fear in another place, in another time, i'd be driving trucks, my dear" +Live+

http://www.hyperreal.org/music/artists/seefeel/ Excellent little site with full discography, as well as info about Scala (Seefeel minus Mark Clifford plus Mark van Hoen). Greg

best. easy. very stark, dark, and intriguing. a little short, but good...

some biosphere reminds me of a more synth-based seefeel. especially that new soundtrack geir did...forget what it's called. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### when the gods want to punish you, they answer your prayers...

Ok, after telling myself forever that I'd go pick up some Seefeel, I finally got Quique (how do you pronounce this?) and Polyfusia about 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I want more. Can someone a) direct me to a Seefeel discog? and b) tell me if there are any other groups out there that have a similar sound? thanks, Matt

Hmmmm. Well, you may like the Seefeel side-projects: Scala, Disjecta and Echo Park. Some Slowdive is similar to the early Seefeel stuff. And the Cocteau Twins were a big influence on Seefeel's early work as well, IMHO. Greg

it's pronounced "keek," i've read. a good next step would be the _starethrough_ ep (and the white-label 12", too).

good recommendations. the last four tracks on the american version of slowdive's _souvlaki_ are similar. also recommended: bowery electric _beat_ cocteau twins _otherness_ (remixed by mark clifford - beautiful!) scala _beauty nowhere_ (their best, IMO) third eye foundation _semtex_ (like seefeel on PCP) [grievous] [grievous@netaxs.com]

polyfusia - more like quique (which i just picked up for $5.99 a few weeks ago, and i really like) or more like succour/ch-vox (picked up both while in the UK this summer - love succour, wish ch-vox was longer)? i'm going to buy it either way, but i just want to know what to expect. speaking of quique, the place where i got it for $5.99 still had another copy for the same price when i was there on monday? anyone want it? i can try back next monday and pick it up if it's there. i'll send it out for cost + $3 priority mail (US only) or less, if you want 4th class or whatever. let me know. anyone out there have a copy of GAK on CD that they want to get rid of? or know where i can get a copy? thanks, alan! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
