gotta add my bit here too, miles really is god. if anyone out there has not heard his discography (extensively), if you actually exist, then you are missing one of the greatest musicians/composers/artists/whatever...in history. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he was the 1st to plug-in his trumpet. I'll add another name to this 'god' thang. Frank Zappa. I put him right there with Miles. Another true innovator & electronic composer. no argument required;, over a 40yr time scale there are stylistic variations a plenty to choose from, put two miles fans together and i guarantee you will get 2 different answers, but i plump for this quartet of albums from period [70-74], put these 4 up against todays 'kings of idm' and you will see for yourself what charlatans they are are live evil, tribute to jack johnson,on the corner, get up with it stuart @ mfr -- http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/mfr/ cutting edge mail order..elecktronic label [esoteric, non-generic material wanted]

Definitely, Frank was a genius. Actually, tonight I'm going to see the Pittsburgh Symphony, and they're going to play one of his orchestral pieces. I couldn't miss that one. __ Ben Cox cox@transarc.com

Oh ABSOLUTEMENTO :-) Musically, Hot Rats (which originally appeared in '69 and was remixed by Bob Stone for Rycodisc in 1987) still is a landmark achievement. Apart from his many many other brilliant albums. Please don't flame if you disagree : this is just - as usual - my personal opinion. I *
