Ok went to dallas to see the twin. Show up to the bronco bowl expecting
to see a huge venue. Instead I see a bowling alley with 2 bars and a
rather large stage area <well large for this>. I never did see the
bowling alley because the fascists who were running that thing had no ins
and outs <and I'm 26>. I came in a back way so I didn't get to see the
bowling alley. I did see the pool hall though. But I digress.
Missed system 7-- got their late <an hour after the big top opened>
808 state:
nice try. Bad sound board. The guy doing all the talking was obnoxious.
They just sounded dated. Even pacific came off badly. Sigh, I really
like that song to.
Next up Banco de Gaia
Okay I like this guy. Especially maya. His show was uhmmm different. It
opened up with guys imitating nirvana <yawn>. Then the stage came alive.
There were guitarist, horn players, bongo players etc. Even banco de gaia
played the guitar. Some samples thrown in as well. In the end I got to
see some band that was heavily influenced by Pink Floyd and the orb doing
covers of Banco de Gaia songs. One of the tracks sounded like that great
gig in the sky on dark side minus the lady singing. Great as far as
musical talent. But in the end it was uninspired. I wish I had talent to
play like these guys but I also wish to have the same inspiration that RDJ
has.
RDJ
what can I say? everyone has said it before. He had more life in his set
than banco de gaia playing "live". It floored me. Impressed me to no
end. Even come to daddy was cool. Beyond that he scared away the ravers.
For those that care, I was the guy in the red ninja tune shirt.
And now for my question:
I picked up a plug research comp that has artists I have never heard of on
it. It is killer. Anyone have any info on it? No title on the comp I
can find. It has a black cover with silver drawings and numbers....
