i went into a studio last night and recorded a friend of mine playing drums. took it back to the computer, loaded it up, processed it (all hail MDT), and bingo, killer jungle loops that nobody else has. just needed to gloat about that for a minute. to atone for that, i offer a review: Christoph De Babalon - "Seven Up" (digital hardcore) Wow, so far I haven't liked anything from alec empire or DHR, but this is a very cool release. The madness commences with an epic 10 minute jungle track called "My Confession." It's just the amen break with a few lo fi pads and rumbles but its starkness renders it all the more effective. extremely hypnotic. builds very subtly as well over time. big thumbs up. the other 6 tracks are all short pieces of either total dark ambience or menacing techstep excursions. well worth a look, especially as it's priced as a single. -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com SpotMedia Communications ...I was an infinitely hot and dense dot...

Christoph De Babalon is usually very good, though at least here where I live his stuff has been hard to get hold of. Check "Land Speed Record" on Cross Fade Enter Tainment for CDB's excellent 'Every Day Of My Life' track. transmission from the pHinnWeb Bunker over, ekku aka pHinn the maintainer of pHinnWeb - the old skool, the nu skool and the pHuture skool of Finnish electronic music trerra@uta.fi | http://www.uta.fi/~trerra | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb
