I'm really digging Chessie's _Signal Series_ lp on Dropbeat. How does the rest of Mr. Gardner's output compare w/ the tone and feel of this one? His demented take on trumpets on "Sleep Like a Kitten" brings to mind Richard Thomas w/out all of the dissonance. I'm hoping some else of Chessie's body of work shares this taste and texture ... Thanks ahead of time. And you lucky bastards who'll catch the Dropbeat tour - tell me what I'm missing. If you like Chessie's 'Signal Series' lp then I suggest you check out his new Meet lp also on Dropbeat. You can find out more about it + hear a few RA bits from it at: http://www.dropbeat.com/core.html

his new one "Meet" came out late last year and is a lot more abrasive in places, similar to the second track on "signal series." it's really good as well, but doesn't have that same laidback feel that "signal series" has. i'm looking forward to their show in cleveland! ;) matt ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
