he sequences all his drums on some cheapy alesis hardware sequencer i think...apparently he runs out of memory half way through most songs because he uses so many patterns! at that point he records everything to eight track... resets the sequencer and starts again... now thats goddamn dedication for you!!! i presume all his drums sounds come from his Akai sampler.... apparently hes investing in a posh mac with protools like Aphex... makes you wonder if his creativity will suffer or not... ;-) Steve /k/./F/

it's good for techno too. has built in 808 and 909 sounds, and if you play with the "normal" sounds a bit it sounds pretty neat. plus a good effects box can turn it into quite the machine. -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com SpotMedia Communications ...I was an infinitely hot and dense dot...

I have one too that's how i recognised....anyway, you can hear it in action too on some of the tracks on FMWT....I think the 2nd or 3rd track definitely has some 660 sounds in it... -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

Check interviews. He's not really big on gear chat, but he does mention actually sequencing songs on the DR660, by which I think he means that he ran other MIDI equipment from the 660's midi output. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Psyche manifests as psychic through something we call 'winding', because it twists, and puts things that were far apart next to each other, complicatedly, taffywise." -- winona on channel 78 Kent Williams kent@inav.net -- http://soli.inav.net/~kent
