In YOUR opinion maybe. Are you saying that your opinion is the only one that counts around here? As long as two people listen to and are willing to discuss a subject that is in some way related to idm, its allowed to be discussed. there is no way you can put IDM and Chemical Bros. together on the same planet. Chemical Bros. are nothing but a rock/pop group turned electronics. someone said this before, but this is why they are so popular. People who are into Green Day, Metallica, Korn, etc. etc. like them too, but they don't like any other electronic music acts except for Prodigy, coz it's a totally different type of music. If you like that kind of music that's fine, but I don't think this is the place to discuss it. I'm certainly not going to talk about Abba in here. __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ , m7=

Noooooo...it's not that at all.....in fact, it's *because* they've become more in the public eye, i've had more opportunity to scrutinise/ listen to their music, and i began to realise that, actually just triggering off a collection of hiphop/rock samples in a certain order really doesn't take too much talent. -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

[lots of praise of dust(chem)bros from the idm archives snipped] ah, it's always the case... get successful and people like us start hating you. i don't really care about it one way or another. i still like the old dust bros stuff. the new album is pretty disappointing tho, with the exception of "it doesn't matter" which i had the privilege of dropping at a party a few weeks ago. that track is pure 100% techno ecstasy and it makes people's heads explode. nothing rock or pop about it. too bad the rest of the album is so lame. and you can be damn sure i picked up the prodigy album because as a working musician i gotta stay in touch with these things. (and it's tax deductible!) all i have to say about it is: nice production, embarrassing image. how does he get those kick drums? they're pretty awesome. -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com SpotMedia Communications ...I was an infinitely hot and dense dot...

[Early IDM mentions of Chemical/Dust brothers deleted] Jackson Browne could have been writing about the chem boys when he said "say a prayer for the pretender, who started out so young and strong only to end there." And in the same song "caught between a longing for love and a struggle for the legal tender." The Chemical Brothers have indeed made a few fine tracks, but unfortunately their newer stuff seems to be mostly a cheap parody of their early heights. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Psyche manifests as psychic through something we call 'winding', because it twists, and puts things that were far apart next to each other, complicatedly, taffywise." -- winona on channel 78 Kent Williams kent@inav.net -- http://soli.inav.net/~kent

I say this is a bit backwards because when they were the DUST bros, they were more electronics. So I'd say electronics turned rock/pop group guilty in sin for continuing this neverending thread! 0 ps: ANYONE know why we have yet to see David Morley release? It's been mentioned constantly but I haven't seen it......(do we even know a title yet?)
