a friend of mine in madison, wi is heading out for chicago in the next week or so and is interesting in getting some names (and locations, if possible) of good record stores for ambient and experimental electronic music. she's into the odd fax, hia, atom heart, apl, autechre, some paradinas, old and new school electro, etc., and is looking for CDs (no vinyl). sorry for the crosspost and thanks in advance, sc

Take a look at http://www.hyperreal.org/music/rotator/ -- they list stores worldwide (including Chicago :). Also, you could submit those you mentioned, they don't seem to be listed. I've always checked out Gramaphone. -- Chris Rusty Householter sez: # Any good IDM record stores in Chicago? I know of Reckless records. Where # is this Flying Nun or whatever it's called at?
