hey fellow idm-ers. i'm writing an article about the whole fungle/drill'n'bass genre, and i'm trying to figure out if i've left out any artists associated with the scene. here's who i'm focussing on: downpour, david kristian, chessie, witchman, plug, mike paradinas, various artists on blue planet and leaf, microstudio, pete nice trio, squarepusher, vert, and the avantgardism compilation. have i left out any artists or important labels or compilations? is the stuff on the planet mu label up this alley? is rubber johnny in this vein? did someone mention that animals on wheels was appearing on some compilation? anyone know how to get in touch with bovinyl records? sorry for so many questions, jeff

Erm....Aphex? ..who practically started the whole thing with his remix of Wagon Christ's "Spotlight" -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

jees.. imo it's just another useless sub-category. when I wanna find AFX or Plug, if I have to name a style, i'll say it's really hectic d&b or something.. let's stop before we aren't able to remember all the styles anymore. __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ , m7=

erm... Spymania the label which first released Squarepusher...Hello? spys 01 - 04 influenced all the lesser known artists mentioned above a great deal and show infinitely more originality than witchman, david kristian and anything after plug 2. The integrity of the label is further reinforced by their Fifth release 'D.I.A.L. - the pause that refreshes', they could have kept peddling the same beats as everyone above but chose to take a new direction... apart from Downpour, i dont see anyone in this list who is actually doing anything particularly new... but thats not the point is it... your writing an article arent you.... sorry ill stop ranting now. k.F

"Initially, the idea was to create a list dedicated to the Aphex Twin but it soon became apparent that there was a whole lot more going on that we felt was worthy of discussion." It was never an AFX list. If Alan was to update any of his sites he should change the wording on that one.
