Re: Rob D - Clubbed to Death. Yeah thought he was Australian - cool! Not so cool though: Did you know that, never mind the fact that the songwriter is credited as being him, the music is actually by Edward Elgar from the Enigma Variations?! I don't have the track (the lack of crediting kinda put me off (same with that Apotheosis version (sample really) of 1st movement Carl Orff's Carmina Burana). "Oh I thought it sounded classical" goes everyone. Anyway, go listen to the Elgar, it's a beautiful piece of music. However, I must say, the arrangement of the music is different, and there _is_ nice piano playing - it seems to not be just sampled from somewhere but rather played... Anyone know more? Peter, who's playing cello with some DJs (Sub Bass Snarl, legends in Sydney, Seb Chan has the most amazing idm/ambient CD/record collection. I spend hours just looking at that shit.) Anyhow, I'm playing cello with them at a fantastic party on Saturday night called Freaky Loops 2. Anyone in Sydney is hereby commanded to come - Manning Building, Sydney Uni - 50-odd acts, all donating their time free for radio 2SER. I'll be playing along with drum'n'bass and ambient shit, with effects and things. Should be fun. I am just now trying to get my act together to write some idm myself. Maybe Squarepusher with cello instead of bass? np: Mu-ziq - Lunatic Harness. All I can say is - *buy this now* This is fucking incredible. Last track sounds lie baroque music. He integrates the drum'n'bass with the music a lot more than on Urmer Bile. Well I'm at a loss for words. Only one listen so far though. By the way, whoever wanted si-{cut}.db, I was going to trade with Dave Parkin <dave@thunk.demon.co.uk>, but ended up being fonud a copy in Sydney. So try him, if he doesn't email you himself. Final remark/question: What does the Ob in ObIdm etc stand for? Funny, I've been on the net for like 5 1/2 years and I don't know this... -- Peter Hollo "We are the future" -Future Sound Of London raven@cia.com.au "Let's get lost in intergalactic punk rock hip hop" http://www.cia.com.au/raven/ -Pop Will Eat Itself What's wrong with Mcdonald's? http://www.McSpotlight.org/
