Erm, who's the one who should lighten up?

Well I think a lot of us are fed up with the constant whinging from the Black Dog Droid too actually. And of course it's got nothing to do with the music - I still like AFX (yep sorry Ken) whatever strange personality Mr RDJ happens to have. Nevertheless, the "nobody loves me" business does grate a bit after a while. Really it does. I think when the previous poster said he used to think that TBD's music was bigger than his mouth, perhaps it's his opinion of the *mouth* that's changed? Oh well. Speaking of Black Dog, I absolutely *love* the last track on Spanners - "Chesh". Can anyone tell me if there's other Black Dog etc stuff that's like this track? I do like the other stuff too, but not to the superlative extent of this track... Yeah ... techno musicians have personalities just like the rest of us ... fancy that. So much for that "faceless" crap! Thanks for the details on the Canada show, Ken. For what it's worth, my housemate just got back from a full US tour that included some dates in Canada, and he was blown away by the vibe up there as well ... wonderful people, social climate, attitude, etc., much better than any of his dates in the US. Maybe there's a lesson for the rest of Us in there somewhere ... ... Perhaps that there's more to the world than the US and UK. How many people in South America do you think have heard Squarepusher, BDP, or even granddaddy Aphex? How about China? Food for thought ... --Seofon

I've been told that the parties in the Islands (South America) are unreal and are like a big Rave on tour. I work with a Trinidaddy (from Trinidad) Ravis1 e-mailing from work Travis L. Combel Project Engineer T.E.S.T. Inc. (504) 371-3065

Couldn't resist this. I'm in South America and have heard (and own albums) of all three mentioned. There is a bit of a scene here, but it's very small. I think you'd probably find people in Buenos Aires as well, but outside of that I have my doubts. As to the point made, there is definitely more to the world than the US and the UK. Dandy Jack is a fairly good example of this. Uwe Schmidt seems to share this opinion as well. The last time he played here there were actually people queuing up to get in. I think things can only improve with increased decentralisation.
