imo they are becoming much more commercialised, throwing the original 'keep it real' element out of the window. You get more cynical as you get older ... I dunno. We had a great event saturday with richie hawtin, theorem, and clark warner at the University of Iowa. The video projections were awesome, the sound system was perfect and the whole thing went off smooth. There was even a nice vibe -- plus I saw everyone I've ever known here in the scene in one place. And richie ripped things up for 4 hours, that seemed like about 10 minutes to me. I was slackjawed in amazement at what he pulled off.
