I have a SONY DTC-690 and a few friends that have A-7's. They record and play back fine on our machines, and on most others. But occasionally when I play back one of my DAT's on a more professional machine (i.e.. TASCAM DA-30MkII, Panasonic SV-3800) there are little glitches and digital errors. It is my understanding that this is a result of a difference in the error correction used by a consumer DAT as compared to a Pro DAT.
