I have a SONY DTC-690 and a few friends that have A-7's. They record and play back fine on our machines, and on most others. But occasionally when I play back one of my DAT's on a more professional machine (i.e.. TASCAM DA-30MkII, Panasonic SV-3800) there are little glitches and digital errors. It is my understanding that this is a result of a difference in the error correction used by a consumer DAT as compared to a Pro DAT. James

I've noticed this too, I have a Panasonic SV-3500 and it has trouble playing ANY DAT recorded on a SONY machine. \|/ @--out----------*--+what-I-got-in-my-head-you-can't-buy-steal-or-borrow /|\ -Primal Scream --Paul p. "To find your mind, you have to lose it first"

I haven't seen that. But I have seen I lot of broken Sony stuff. It seems to have a short life span. .................... .:....:::..:..:....:..:.. transmission ended :....:......:::...:...:..::... if . then . else .................................................
