Kev: Hey! Didn't mean to turn you into a theoretical alter-entity! There were a few reasons that my theory was only a theory, for instance you thank Jon & Matt for their hard drive space on the Blechsdottir CD. By the way, I gotta say that your work on the 2 Blech comps totally blows me away every time I listen to it: that and the Coldcut JDJ CD have convinced me (very belatedly) of just how much of an artform DJ-ing really is. [Belatedly because I came to idm/electronica/whateverthefuck via indie/alternative/whateverelsethefuck from classical music, being a cellist/pianist/whateverist.] I have the utmost respect for PC & Strictly (by the way I also did subliminally at least realise you were Kev _Foakes_, really I was just being silly with the conspiracy...) One thing I just love is the segue on Blechsdottir from N.O.W.'s What I'm Feelin' into LFO's Shove Piggy Shove. The way the harmonies match so perfectly as LFO comes in, and then when the bass comes in in the LFO, it's just beautiful! Anyway, I guess what you've shown is that DJ Food is as much your project as Jon & Matt, but hten again if all four of you can be "Coldcut" sometimes, and can be DJ Food, it still seems that DJ Food is a differently-structured version of Coldcut... But then obviously the styles of music are quite different between the two entities anyway. Well thanks for clearing it up for us, great to hear from you! Peter.
