full of questions today that will probably never get answered, i know, but here's another: i've come across a couple of interesting singles on the signum label (one by dj aardvard and another by flux, i think) and i'm wondering if anyone has any information on either the label or the artists. some really nice minimalist experimental electro/funk/jazz in the freaky, disjointed vein of unexplored beats or the more serious side of cheap (serious side?)...anyway, there's some speculation that signum is a djax sublabel...can anyone confirm this? reviews of other signum releases i've not mentioned would also be great... tia, sc

Signum kicks ass. It's indeed run by Maarten and it's up to it's seventh release. Most by Flux or Phlux etc. which is V/d Vleuten himselves. It's distributed by Props actually, check the mentioned url for a complete discography. cheerio. forcefield tomorrow back in a vengeance.. ¤ Forcefield ¤ http://wwwedu.cs.utwente.nl/~wielen/forcefield/

Signum is not a Djax sublabel AFAIK, but it's run by Maarten van der Vleuten from Holland, who also records for Djax as Major Malfunction, so that would explain the connection. Check www.xs4all.nl/~utrax/ U-Trax distributes Signum, so they may have more information at their site. Wasn't Sander Caron's (David Caron's brother) release on Signum as well? Cheers, Otto
