The original Powerpill 12" is great, with some mixes containing really booming bass. It used to remind me of Meat Beat's "Helter Skelter" in some ways, rhythmically. A friend got the "Only For The Headstrong" Vol .2 CD and we listened to the version on there and it was far worse than the stuff on the original 12"; watered down and basically lame. I suspect you'll like the 12" a *lot* better than the "Only For The Headstrong" compilation track. In other news: since MMM chided us about still talking about Orbital and The Prodigy, I'll mention something different: Riz Maslen's Neotropic album ("15 Levels of Magnification") is an absolute Must Buy. What a phenominal record this is. Stylistically varied, slammin' tracks, multi-layered, lots going on, and in general a true "Caution: Brain At Work" release. Fabulous. - Greg

you know, i really *respect* this album - it's intensely well done. clever. musical. well-produced. sonically excellent in every respect. but it just doesn't *move* me at all! it's so obviously a personal vision of a sonic world, i feel like i should really dig it, but it just washes over me and leaves me utterly cold. oh well, i still listen to it a lot. maybe someday i will *feel* it as well.
