Hey folks. Just a quick note to say that the current high bid for my Universal Indicator Green 7"/10"/12" set is US$37. Bidding closes tonight, so if your thinkin' of making an offer, do it soon! Also, I caught the Ninja tour here in Toronto last night. Too bad about the venue - The Warehouse has an atmosphere just as it's name suggests, which made things feel a bit too rave-like, and somewhat sparse since the several hundred people who were there didn't really fill the space meant for well over a thousand. But other than that, the Ninja crew really rocked hard. Kid Koala is un-fucking-believable - played his own set for abot 30 minutes, did a tag team thing with Kev from DJ Food for well over an hour, and then did another solo set for 45 mins or so, all non-stop, all without headphones(!), and all totally amazing sounds. As I said to Jeff from Ninja N.A. while watching this kid at work, I tend to be pretty cynical when it comes to the whole "DJ as artist" thing since I don't think most of them deserve the hype, but in Koala's case, he deserves all of it and more. I can't even begin to describe what he was doing. Just go see him if you get the chance! Oh, yeah, DJ Vadim was pretty good, too, but I felt bad for him having to follow Koala. Jeff tells me that they've generally been closing the Ninja set with a three-man tag team (Kev, Koala, Vadim), but I didn't stick around late enough to see/hear it. Greg
