Plus 8 didn't reissue the speedy j or fuse material, speedy j and richie hawtin are signed to plus 8 and warp liscenses the releases from plus 8. In fact, if you look on the back of you're warp releases of speedy j and fuse you'll see a +8 printed on them. As for the comps, they're hit and miss. Some good tracks, some bad tracks and some previously unreleased tracks. But I like them. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Some info on some of their releases from last year then... Theorem: "Nano" (2xLP / CD) -- Minimalistic Detroit techno (hence the name "Nano") by Dale Lawrence. Actually quite pleasant and emotional, especially one track which is one of my top 10s of last year, "Dilate". BTW I saw him post a message to this mailing list a few months ago. Legion of Green Men: "Spatial Specific" (2xLP / CD?) -- Funky midtempo electrotechno. Couldn't really get into it but I won't say it was boring. An intersesting thing about this double LP is that at the end of each side there is a neverending loop. Born Under a Rhyming Planet (Jamie Hodge): "Born Under a Rhyming Planet" (EP on red vinyl) -- My favourite of the releases mentioned here. It's hard to describe, perhaps acoustic jazz-influenced ambient would fit. Reminds me of impressionism (Debussy etc.) of classical music. Kooky Scientist: [oops, can't remember the name] (EP) -- Again minimalistic Detroit techno, but this time it's boring to death (IMHO). I've heard others that like it though.
