Imagine a more melodic version of AFX's 'SAW2', or perhaps a less melodic version of Autechre's 'Amber'. 'Found Sound' occupies the ground between those two albums. Personally, I think 'Found Sound' beats much of AFX's recent output into the ground. There's a nice mixture of styles on offer, from the sparse hollowness of 'Central Heating' to the rhythmical 'Bamboo', the haunting loneliness of 'Aphonia', the almost Orbital-esque 'Fingerbobs' and the excellent Cocteau Twins collaboration, 'Hypo-allergenic'. Quite simply, one of the best techno releases this year. .+'''+. mark@sonance.demon.co.uk M A R K http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/sonance/ `+.,.+' http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/
